Hippo

The hippopotamus is semi-aquatic, inhabiting rivers and lakes where territorial bulls regulate over a stretch of watercourse & groups of 5 to 30 females and young . During the day they remain cool by staying in the water or mud; They also give  birth in water . They come out in the eve to feed on grass . While hippopotamuses rest like any other  in the water , grazing is a unique activity & hippos are not territorial on land .

Hippopotamuses are one of the largest mammals. They can live in the water , or go on land . Their specific gravity permits them to sink and walk or run along the bottom of a water . Hippos are considered megafauna, but distinct each other African megafauna, hippos have blending for a semi-aquatic life in freshwater dams & rivers.
