Skukuza is not only the biggest rest camp in the Kruger National Park’s (“KNP”) but is also home to the executive headquarters of the South African National Parks Department which is situated on the south bank of the Sabie river. It is, therefore, appropriate that a large number of birds, reptiles and animals can be seen in and around the KNP.
As in the other camps facilities are provided to take visitors on game-viewing excursions that are managed by Park Rangers. They have been fully trained and accredited to be able to identify an amazing number of mammals, reptiles, birds and insects and their knowledge, tracking and interpretative skills are legendary. Rangers are always armed against attack but are very rarely called on to demonstrate their marksmanship. Also, women are increasingly qualifying as rangers.
In venturing outside the gate visitors will be informed about what they are seeing at every step. Private night drives are not permitted but regular nocturnal tours are arranged where one can recognise the various rodents, predators and reptiles.

Awesome Skukuza Wildlife Drives

Skukuza is one of the primary camps in the Kruger National Park. Many of the primary restcamps have refreshment facilities and a collection of tourist attractions such as info facilities & museum exhibitions.

The main camps are some of the most well known camps in park and have thousands of years past history, from the times of the nomadic-hunter-gatherers to the current day. Skukuza , like most of the primary restcamps maintains a map service, outlining the locations of the Skukuza camp and& different places of the Kruger.
