Warthogs area in size from 0.91 to 1.5 metres (3.0 to 4.9 ft ) in length & 50 to 150 kg (110 to 330 lb ) in weight. A warthog is identifiable by the 2 pairs of tusks extending from the mouth, which are consumed as weapons opposite to predators. The top canine teeth can grow to twenty-three cm (9.1 in ), & are of a squashed round shape in cross area , nearly rectangular , being bout’ 4.5 cm (1.8 in ) deep and 2.5 cm (0.98 in ) far-reaching . The spike will bend 90 degrees or more from the root
Wild warthogs can live up to fifteen years, & captive warthogs may live as long as 18 years, The standard rehearsal time frame is 5 or 6 months and the litter is 2 to 8 piglets, nonetheless 2 to 4 is more typical . Piglets are weaned at 3 or 4 months of age, reaching sexual maturity at eighteen to twenty-four months. Females may give birth twice or, in extremely rare cases, up to five times per year.
